Gong Yoo is back to lure players back to the deadly ‘Squid Game‘.
October was off to a thrilling start with the makers of the hit Korean drama unveiling a teaser trailer of Season 2.
Directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk, the teaser marks the return of actor Gong Yoo as his mysterious character, who lures participants back into the high-stakes competition. The teaser gives fans a closer look into the life of Gong Yoo’s character, letting the viewer into his swanky home and also gives us a peek at his prep for the day.The clip also sees the character loading his briefcase with a red envelope, an invitation, and a wad of cash.
His destination or hunting ground, is the subway station where he was first introduced in Season 1. The clip ends with him handing out the infamous dalgona slap card, with a chilling invitation, “Would you like to play a game with me?”

The upcoming season will see the return of protagonist Gi-hun, played by Lee Jung-jae, who re-enters the mysterious survival competition with a renewed purpose after abandoning plans to flee to America. The stakes remain high as new participants gather once more to compete for the 45.6 billion prize, risking their lives in the process.
In addition to Lee Jung-jae, several key cast members from the first season return, including Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-joon, and Gong Yoo. The new season will also introduce a fresh ensemble of actors, including Im Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Gyu-young, and many others, promising fresh dynamics and intense drama.
Squid Game Season 2 is expected to continue exploring the darker sides of human nature, greed, and survival, with even more deadly twists to childhood games and extreme challenges awaiting the participants. The series releases on December 26, 2024.
