Govinda, the beloved Bollywood actor known for his exceptional comic timing and dance skills, has been in the news recently due to an unfortunate incident where he got shot with his own revolver. On Tuesday, while preparing to leave for a flight to Kolkata, the actor accidentally shot himself in the leg when the revolver misfired.
Following this incident, he underwent surgery and has been recuperating at a Hospital in Mumbai.His family has confirmed that he is recovering well and will be discharged today.
The actor’s wife, Sunita Ahuja, said that Govinda has been advised to rest for at least six weeks. She said he will be discharged between 12 and 1 PM today. In a video, she appeared relieved and humorously remarked , “Sahab bach gate issey badi khushi aur kya hai (What greater happiness is there than this).”
“He will be discharged today. I will bring him here but he will have difficulty standing… He is fine and will start dancing again in a few days. Everyone has prayed for him and we have the blessings of Mata rani,” she added.

Dr. Ramesh Agarwal, who performed the surgery, stated that Govinda’s condition is stable and emphasized the importance of rest during his recovery period, “He will go home and he has to rest for a couple of weeks.”

Sunita Ahuja was in Kolkata at the time of the incident but quickly returned to Mumbai upon learning about her husband’s accident. “I was hit by a bullet, but it has been extracted. I thank the doctors here and your prayers,” he shared in an audio message directed at his fans. His brother Kirti Kumar had also noted that Govinda has strong willpower and desire to return home as soon as possible. As Govinda prepares for his discharge from the hospital today, fans eagerly await updates on his recovery journey
