Nayanthara’s documentary titled Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairy Tale has been the talk of the town ever since its release on Netflix on November 18. The documentary gives the audience a sneak peek into her relationship with her husband Vignesh Shivan. In addition to the exclusive clips from their coveted wedding, the documentary also included personal interviews with the couple, in which they talked candidly about their relationship.

Vignesh Shivan shared that he rarely gets angry with Nayanthara. Whenever a disagreement occur, he just tends to go with what his wife says. Nayanthara added that she is very expressive and she makes it evident when she is angry with Vignesh. She further revealed, “No matter what happens, before he has his meal he’ll feed me the first bite. Only after I take a bite, will he eat. If not, he will not eat. If we fight, my way of showing that I am mad is by not taking that first bite. Sometimes the fights get solved within an hour, sometimes it takes a day.”

Talking about Nayanthara’s love for food, Vignesh said, “She loves food and she eats more than me. I eat three-four chapatis and she’ll have seven-eight. She gives the impression that she is on a diet but she eats a lot.”

The documentary also showcases Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan’s lighthearted dynamic. At one point, Nayanthara casually slapped Vignesh on the nape before bursting into laughter. When Vignesh questioned why she hit him, she claimed there was a mosquito behind him. To which Vignesh said, “This is her new technique to hit me! There’s no mosquito — this entire house is mosquito-proof. But she’ll do it anyway and blame it on one.”
