Speaking on Siddharth Kannan’s podcast, Himani revealed that while Nath was well-mannered and professional on set, his personality shifted drastically after consuming alcohol.Himani recalled an incident during the filming of Hum Aapke Hain Koun where Nath caused a scene while drunk.
“I have done a lot of work with him in the past and the thing with him is that when he is not drinking, then he is sanskari. His personality was like that of Jekyll and Hyde,” she explained. “Apart from one incident in the National School of Drama (NSD), I have never faced any problem with him. But I would hear from people that he was a different person after a few drinks,” she added.
Himani also mentioned another instance while traveling for an award show, where Nath became uncontrollable after drinking. His wife and Himani both tried to calm him down, even warning him that he could be removed from the flight. “He was deplaned once in the past because of his behaviour,” she said, further adding, “He would be very quiet and professional on sets, but as the clock struck 8, he would turn into a different person.”

Nath, often cast in fatherly roles in films and TV shows, was accused of sexual misconduct by multiple women during the #MeToo movement in 2018-19. The first allegation came from writer-producer Vinta Nanda, who accused him of sexual assault. Following her, actresses Navneet Nishan and Sandhya Mridul, along with a crew member from Hum Saath Saath Hain, also shared similar experiences.
Alok Nath denied the accusations and disappeared from the public eye for some time. Since his return, he has remained mostly out of the spotlight.
