I Want to Talk Day 1 box office: The Abhishek Bachchan starrer opens at 25 lakh

Abhishek Bachchan is currently being seen in Shoojit Sircar’s ‘I Want to Talk‘, in which he plays a terminally ill man, who is suddenly given only 100 days to live. The heartwarming saga, pegged to be one of Abhiskek’s finest works, opened the box-office on a slow note, collecting 25 lakhs on day 1, according to industry tracker sacnilk. It now remains to be seen if positive word of mouth pushes the movie further ahead, or not.

Coming back to Abhishek’s role in the movie, the junior Bachchan recently shared that the reason he took on the role was linked to his daughter, Aaradhya. The story of a father wanting to be there for his child deeply resonated with him.
In an interview with Indus Age, Shoojit Sircar asked Abhishek if his film ‘I Want To Talk’ affected his relationship with his daughter Aaradhya. Abhishek explained that his films don’t influence his personal life. He shared that his focus is always on bringing the character to life and fulfilling the director’s vision once a project begins.

Junior Bachchan further shared that while working on ‘I Want To Talk’, he realised that self-reflection occurs before he starts a project. He explained that in his second phase of acting, the kind of films he chooses to do reflect the state of mind he’s in at the time.
He discussed his character Arjun, who is told he has 100 days to live, and a poignant moment where his daughter Raka asks if he’ll dance at her wedding. He explained that a daughter’s wedding is one of the most significant moments in a father’s life, something every father looks forward to and plans for, regardless of the relationship they have with their child.
On the other hand, Amitabh Bachchan is proving to be his son, Abhishek Bachchan’s biggest cheerleader. The Bollywood Megastar on Friday, lead the cheer brigade as he shared his review of Jr Bachchan’s performance in his latest film ‘I Want To Talk’.
Taking to his social media handles early Friday morning, Big B replied to a fan post of the new Shoojit Sircar directorial and heaped praise on his son, saying, “magical is the IN word .. my love blessings and more.”
In his tweet, he also brought back his favourite phrase, which translates to English as, “My sons will not be my successors just because they are sons; those who will be my successors will be my sons!! Abhishek my son; my successor.”
Bachchan has been cheering for Abhishek’s new film on all his social media platforms. The proud dad even took to his blog to pen his admiration for his son’s work. In a post, he wrote, “…I smile today and with pride and great emotion for the Son and my Abhishek for his work .. assiduous, tremendous joy…”

While writing down his thoughts, he shared in a post on the importace of ‘being different’. He wrote, “Being different often involves taking risks, but it garners respect when it comes from a place of genuine conviction. Society values those who are authentic and offer fresh perspectives. This uniqueness also drives popularity, as people are drawn to the new and the extraordinary.”
