‘Indian 2‘ was released in theatres on July 12 in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. The movie directed by Shankar stars Kamal Haasan in the lead role and the film received a lot of mixed reviews. The vigilante action drama made Rs 42 crore at the box office and is inching towards Rs 50 crore on day 3.
The film’s runtime which was for 3 hours has now been reduced by 20 minutes to 2 hours and 40 minutes by the makers after the negative word of mouth from the audience on day 1 and day 2 of the film’s release.The movie makers took immediate action and reduced the film’s runtime considerably and they have acknowledged the feedback.
‘Indian 2’ is the sequel to the 1996 classic drama that was directed by Shankar and it starred Kamal Haasan. The sequel has the veteran actor reprising his role as Senapathi, a freedom fighter who is against corruption. The movie features Kamal Haasan, Siddharth, Bobby Simha, Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Samuthirakani, SJ Suryah, Vivek, Guru Somasundaram, Manobala, Guru Somasundaram among others and the music for the film is composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
The makers have already shot for the next sequel and the part 3 titled ‘Indian 3’ stars Kajal Aggarwal in the lead role and it is set for its release in January 2025.
