Indian singer Ipsitaa SLAMMED for 'blatant plagiarism' of BLACKPINK, BABYMONSTER, and other K-Pop music videos

Indian singer Ipsitaa has come under fire from K-pop fans who took offence over the singer allegedly plagiarizing content from music videos of various Korean Pop stars.
Ipsitaa, who dropped her song ‘Kadar Na Jaane’ on September 11, is now facing backlash after the music video irked fans of various K-pop groups who claimed that the video is ‘blatantly copied’ from groups like IVE, BLACKPINK, aespa, Girls’ Generation, BABYMONSTER, and many others.
K-netizens have taken to online forums to share their disbelief and amusement over the singer’s music video which seemingly mirrors iconic scenes from several K-pop hits.

The music video reportedly opens with a sequence reminiscent of IVE’s “I AM,” and includes aesthetics similar to BLACKPINK’s “Whistle”, aespa’s KWANGYA, Girls’ Generation, Taeyeon and scenes from IZ*ONE’s music videos.

Amidst the wave of harsh criticism, some K-netizens had a laugh over the alleged “blatant plagiarism” and called the video a “K-pop parody.”
“This is so ridiculous that it’s funny,” said a fan while another went on to add, “Wait, lol, this feels more like a parody.”
Another said, “Dancing on wings, the outfit is similar too, haha. It’s so identical that it doesn’t even feel like plagiarism, it’s just funny.”
“Wow, the outfits, choreography, and even the backup dancers are all K-pop style, haha. I’ve seen some of this in my fave’s music videos, lol. Is this a K-pop tribute? I have no idea about the lyrics, though,” said another.
“They didn’t even try to be subtle, it’s so blatant that it’s just funny,” read another post.
Interestingly, Ipsitaa acknowledged in the video description that her work was in-fact inspired by ‘extraordinary’ female K-pop groups. In the post, she wrote, “I’m back with a brand new music video to sweep you off your feet and take you on a visual adventure like no other. This one’s inspired by KPop music videos by some extraordinary female groups and artists. We wanted to recreate and play with the worlds they’ve built, introducing them to India for the first time. “
