Jibraan, while speaking to Hindustan Times said, “It was one of the auditions that did happen, and somebody asked (is it) Student Of The Year? And I said yeah, one of them.
But I was never going for Tiger’s part in that, and I don’t know why people are saying that.” The actor added, “I never meant it that way. I was never auditioning for his role. It was always Tiger Shroff’s film. I think it was for (actor) Aditya Seal’s role and rightly so, I used to look younger than them three-four years ago.”
He added, “What I faced was that I looked very kiddish, which was not working a few years ago and now suddenly there is a demand for looking young again. If you see my Instagram from a few years ago, I have a beard in every picture because that was the demand, I had to look older because somewhere people wanted me to be in the Varun Dhawan league. But suddenly there is this whole vibe now where they want you to look younger. So, I am now constantly in the middle of that. I don’t know where I stand now. ”
Earlier, during a chat with Free Press Journal, Jibraan Khan addressed the long wait before his big-screen debut after ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’. He mentioned that people had been asking about his debut for the past 5-6 years. Jibraan honestly acknowledged the difficulties he faced, stressing the importance of finding the perfect project for his debut. He emphasised the need to differentiate himself and prepare thoroughly as a mainstream actor, focusing on both physicality and acting abilities.
Jibraan highlighted his proactive approach to seeking acting opportunities by reaching out to directors and producers and actively auditioning. In a conversation with ANI, Jibraan Khan recalled how the late veteran actor Amrish Puri had advised his parents to keep him away from the public eye. However, after his third film, ‘Rishtey’, Jibraan decided to step away from acting. He explained that at the time, there was a belief that aspiring actors should avoid too much attention to maintain freshness, a perspective Amrish Puri had shared with his parents, which influenced his choice.
