Alia Bhatt’s latest movie, Jigra, recorded an improvement in its box office collection on the second day. The film, which opened with ₹4.55 crore on its first day, showed a 42% increase on Saturday, bringing in ₹6.50 crore. This has taken its two-day total domestic earnings to over ₹11 crore, as reported bySacnilk.
Jigra’s positive trend can be attributed to the Dussehra festival, which helped boost ticket sales.The film’s producers are hopeful that this momentum will carry through the weekend and sustain the film’s earnings.
However, the Telugu dubbed version of Jigra has not performed well, earning just ₹5 lakh on the first day. Many shows in regions like Nizamabad and Warangal had 0% occupancy, leading to the cancellation of several shows on the second day.
Directed by Vasan Bala, Jigra is a drama about a sister’s desperate attempt to free her brother from a foreign prison. Alia Bhatt plays the role of Satya, who teams up with others to break her brother out of jail. The film is produced by Alia Bhatt and Karan Johar. The film has received mixed reviews. While some critics praised it, others noted its lack of thrill and a predictable plot. However, audiences seem to be responding positively, as indicated by the growing box office numbers.
The film saw a clash with Raj Kummar Rao and Triptii Dimri‘s ‘Vicky Vidya Kya Woh Wala Video’.
