Gaga’s portrayal of Harley has been one of the most anticipated aspects of the film, as she takes over the role previously played by Margot Robbie in the ‘Suicide Squad’ films and Kaley Cuoco in the animated ‘Harley Quinn’ series.Fans have eagerly awaited this first look since director Todd Philips revealed that Gaga’s interpretation would be different from the ones seen so far.
The clip also gives fans a tease of the musical aspect of the movie. The sequel to the Oscar-nominated film, is set to be a jukebox musical—a departure from the dark tone of the first film. Although some fans were initially sceptical about the musical direction, many now see Gaga as the perfect choice for this version of Harley Quinn.
The clip also draws a connection to an iconic scene from the first ‘Joker’ film, where Arthur shoots Murray Franklin, played by Robert De Niro on national TV.
With the film set to release next month, anticipation is at an all-time high. The makers on Tuesday also released the Joker vinyl CDs and a new poster featuring the lead stars walking side-by-side.
The film will have an early release in India. It was announced last week that the film will arrive in theatres in India on October 2, while the film will release worldwide on October 4.
