Josh Brolin is candidly sharing his thoughts about not being included in the starry cast of ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman. The actor, who previously played the character Cable in ‘Deadpool 2’, expressed his thoughts on not being included in the third part of the film franchise.
Earlier this year, Josh revealed that he did not receive an invitation to reprise his role as Cable in the new MCU film.Months before the film became one of the year’s biggest box office hits, it was brought to Brolin’s attention that his name appeared in the IMDb credits, despite his lack of involvement in the project. When Bingeworthy asked if this meant he would be in the film, Brolin replied, “Am I? Yes! I so wanted to be in that movie.”
When explaining his absence from the film, the actor, who was promoting the new season of his now-cancelled Prime Video series Outer Range, said, “[Marvel] is a more complex labyrinth than Outer Range will ever be, my friend. I’ll never know where that went or what I’m involved with or not involved with – given how vast the MCU has become.”
He also noted, “Playing Cable was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed that role. It was a blast.”
Brolin, who previously played the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) villain Thanos, is not involved in the new Deadpool film, titled Deadpool & Wolverine. This film is the first in the franchise to be released under the MCU.
Within the first two weeks of its release, the film has gone on to become one of Marvel’s biggest hits. It is not aiming for the $1 billion mark at the worldwide box office.
