Nag Ashwin mentioned that Prabhas, who is a big fan of Amitabh Bachchan, was deeply moved during the shoot.He recalled how Prabhas was present when they filmed the first scene involving the character Ashwatthama and was in awe, saying ‘I can’t believe this man is on set, I can’t believe I am going to act with him.’ He added, “He was in complete awe. Prabhas is very humble, but he was even more overwhelmed.”
The director also revealed that Amitabh Bachchan, to his surprise, is an equally big fan of Prabhas. Bachchan expressed his excitement after filming scenes with Prabhas, joking that fans of Baahubali might be upset with him for hitting their hero. “There were some scenes I could not shoot together, but separately, and he would be so disappointed, saying, ‘But I want to do that scene with Prabhas.’ He is just such a big fan of the personality and phenomenon that Prabhas has become,” he shared.

Nag Ashwin also recounted a moment when Amitabh Bachchan called Prabhas after watching Salaar-Part 1. “On one of the last days of shoot, after Salaar was released he was so excited, he called him and said I watched it twice and you were amazing in the film. Both have amazing mutual admiration,” he recalled.
Kalki 2898 AD was a massive success at the box office, earning over Rs 1100 crores worldwide and becoming one of the highest-grossing films of 2024. In addition to Prabhas and Amitabh Bachchan, the film featured Deepika Padukone and Kamal Haasan in key roles.
