Kangana Ranaut recently shared an Instagram story to remind everyone of the responsibilities that come with freedom on the occasion of Independence Day. The actress and politician urged the citizens of India to contribute to its growth rather than publicly criticize it.

Her story reads: “Responsibilities that come with Independence. 1) Don’t ridicule your nation; don’t litter or spit openly; don’t speak ill of your own culture and traditions.2) Follow rules, including traffic regulations and basic human etiquette. Be someone who leaves a place better than you found it. 3) No matter which field you come from, ask yourself how you contributed to nation-building. If you are an artist, don’t promote vulgarity or engage in work that endorses rape and violence for quick profit. Always ask yourself, ‘India has given me everything; what have I done for India without seeking personal gain?’ 4) Be truthful, honest, and sincere. Never be negative or pessimistic. Love your nation, and if you can’t do anything else, just pray for its rise and well-being. Jai Hind.”

Kangana is now gearing up for the release of her directorial venture, ‘Emergency’. The movie depicts the political tension of 1975 when Prime Minister Indira Gandhi declared a national emergency across India. Kangana will portray Indira on screen.
In a recent interview with Variety, Kangana discussed her work-life balance as a full-time politician. She mentioned that being a parliamentarian is a very demanding job. Her constituency in Himachal Pradesh recently faced a tragic flood, which has impacted her film shoots, causing delays as she has been unable to begin filming new projects.
