In a conversation with Siddharth Kannan on his YouTube channel, Karan Oberoi shared that he had to clean toilets while in jail. He described that period as one of his darkest, likening it to being in hell and wondering how he had ended up there.Despite being surrounded by hardened criminals, some of them took it upon themselves to protect him.
Karan revealed that he didn’t eat or sleep for days upon entering jail, reaching a point of delirium. He described the experience as terrifying, not knowing if he would survive. For the first seven days, he ate nothing, and for the first nine days, he remained awake, feeling increasingly overwhelmed and uncertain about making it through.

He added that he nearly died from asphyxiation during an incident, which he preferred not to detail. He described the moment as the end of his life, recalling how he saw his life flash before his eyes. Suffering from claustrophobia, he was placed in a small cell, believing it was the end for him.
In 2019, Karan Oberoi was accused of rape and extortion. The woman alleged that he raped her between January 2017 and February 2018, claiming he had promised marriage. He was arrested the following day and released on bail by the Bombay High Court after a month. While he was in jail, the woman filed a second FIR for assault, alleging she was pressured to withdraw her complaint. Subsequently, she was arrested by Mumbai Police on charges of criminal conspiracy and filing false information in an FIR. In 2023, the Bombay High Court fined her Rs 20,000 after her lawyer failed to complete the required legal formalities for the case.
