Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer ‘The Buckingham Murders’ is set to release this Friday, September 13. She plays the role of a detective, which is quite a departure from her previous roles. Kareena has recently opened up about her passion for acting.
In a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Kareena stated that her goal has always been to be recognised as ‘a serious actor, not just a star’.She asserted that while being a star is ‘great’, she has always been driven by the desire to take on challenging roles.
The actress also acknowledged that coming from a family with a rich acting legacy, including her grandfather Raj Kapoor, others Shashi Kapoor, Shammi Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, and her sister Karisma, she wanted to prove that she could combine being a star with being a serious actor.
Citing ‘Jab We Met’ and ‘Udta Punjab’, Bebo stated that she has always sought roles that pushed her boundaries and helped her showcase her versatility. She added that this blend of commercial appeal and depth is something she strives for.
