Kareena Kapoor Khan made her debut with JP Dutta’s Refugee opposite Abhishek Bachchan, and since then, she has become one of the most sought-after actresses in the country, delivering hits with some of the biggest names. As she enters the 25th year of her career, she’s exploring different kinds of films, from the all-girls film Crew with Tabu and Kriti Sanon to the murder mystery Jaane Jaan with Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Varma, to her latest outing, The Buckingham Murders, directed by Hansal Mehta.
In this thriller, she plays a detective assigned to investigate a child’s murder while grieving the loss of her own child. Kareena was aware of the limited box office prospects for the film, so she also came on board as a producer, alongside Ektaa R Kapoor.
The film earned ₹7.65 crore in its first week and added ₹1.98 crore in the second week. On its third Friday, the film collected just ₹7 lakh, but on Saturday, it saw a significant jump, earning ₹20 lakh, according to early estimates by Sacnilk. This brings the film’s total to ₹9.9 crore, with a strong possibility of adding another ₹30 lakh on Sunday, pushing it past the ₹10 crore mark.
Kareena’s next release is Rohit Shetty and Ajay Devgn’s Singham Again, slated to release on Diwali. It will be clashing with Kartik Aaryan, Vidya Balan, Madhuri Dixit-Nene, and Triptii Dimri’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. She is also rumored to be part of Meghna Gulzar’s next film, following Sam Bahadur.
