Kartik Aaryan extended his best wishes to the Indian athletes representing India at the Olympics 2024. He posted a picture from his latest film, ‘Chandu Champion‘, and shared his pride in seeing the Indian flag at the top.
Wishing the athletes, Kartik mentioned, “Wishing all the best to the athletes representing our nation at the #ParisOlympics2024.” He also reflected on playing India’s first Paralympics gold medallist, Murlikant Petkar, in his recent release, “Playing an athlete in #ChanduChampion has been an incredible experience and honor.”
Adding further, he wrote, “The feeling of holding the medal and seeing the Indian flag on top cannot be expressed in words.More strength to you all Champions!! Give your best and make us proud.”
Fans responded to his post, with some wondering how it would have been if the film had been released during the Olympics.
‘Chandu Champion’, directed by Kabir Khan is a biographical sports drama that traces Kartik Aaryan’s character through various phases of his life. The plot shows him facing numerous challenges, including being undervalued and injured in war. It also explores how he initially abandons his dream of winning an Olympic gold medal but later discovers a new opportunity in the Paralympics.
Earlier in an interview with ETimes, Kartik revealed on the emotional prep or the physical prep for the film, he said, “Both of them (emotionally and physically getting into the part) were difficult and they were correlated. Building this body was a work of a lot of patience and it too really long. I had never imagined a film like this, genre like this and this is something I’ve never attempted. For me, I was trying to give my 200 percent – be it the psyche or physique in every way possible. We did a lot of workshops, reading sessions. We did a lot of workshops with a dialect expert to get the Marathi lingo and to not overdo it. There’s always a thin line between making it sound correct and overdoing it. It’s been quite a while that we started prepping for this film. All said and done, I’m really proud of this film.”
On the work front, Kartik will soon be seen in Aneez Bazmee directorial film ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ with Triptii Dimri and Vidya Balan. The shooting of the film is going in full swing and is slated to release on November 1, 2024.
