The actor took to his social media and shared a video of her mother’s reaction post watching the film.In the video, Kartik’s mother looked emotional as she was seen gazing at her son with pride and gave him a hug. Kartik hugged her mother back and happily smiled looking at him. Along with the video, he wrote, “Nothing makes me feel more like a Champion than when you are proud of me.”
Earlier, Kartik shared a happy moment with his father at the film’s trailer launch in Gwalior. Kartik’s father Manish Tiwari joined him on stage and he later waved to the crowd. “Just this moment with my Champion”, wrote Kartik as he shared the video from the film’s trailer launch.
The film opened to great reviews on June 14 at the big screens. On ‘Chandu Champion’ release day, Kartik shared a long note along with a video where he hugged director Kabir Khan. His post read, “This Champion is now yours. These claps These Standing Ovations are making me so emotional and proud of this entire journey.”
He further added, “This movie is more than just a story for me, it’s a journey that changed my perspective about life! I’m so grateful to @kabirkhankk sir and #SajidNadiadwala sir for choosing me to be their champion, and it’s my greatest honor to have portrayed the role of a real-life hero Murlikant sir, I’ll forever be indebted to you. Ye movie, har uss Chandu keliye jo Champion banna chahta hai, har uss Chandu keliye jo Champion ban sakta hai (This movie if for every Chandu who wants to become a Champion) #ChanduChampion in theatres now!!”
Directed by Kabir Khan, ‘Chandu Champion’ is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and Kabir Khan. It hit the theatres on June 14, 2024. In the sports biopic, Kartik plays the role of former Indian Paralympic gold-medalist Murlikant Petkar. The film also features Bhuvan Arora, Yashpal Sharma, Vijay Raaz, Aniruddh Dave, Palak Lalwani and others in pivotal characters.
