Amitabh Bachchan once again entertained the audience with his candid confessions on Kaun Banega Crorepati 16. In the latest episode, Amitabh shared a relatable personal experience about his decision to pursue Science in college which he later regretted. The conversation unfolded when a student contestant Sakshi Panwar from Jodhpur, Rajasthan was presented with a question worth Rs 10,000 and that’s when the two discussed Science. The question read, “Between which two integers does the value of pi lie?” with the options being: “A) 1 and 2, B) 2 and 3, C) 3 and 4, D) 4 and 5.”
Sakshi Panwar then answered, “Sir pi ka value 3.14 hota hai, so I will go with option C (Sir, the value of pi is 3.14).” After this, Amitabh enquired how she knew this, to which she quipped that everyone learns it in school. The megastar then responded, “Humne toh bachpan mein kabhi nahi padha yeh (I never studied this as a child).” Sakshi then pointed out that he had taken up science, and that’s when the actor opened up about his regret. He said, “Woh mat boliye kyunki bohat badi galti ho gayi (Don’t say that, as I made a big mistake).”
This isn’t the first time Amitabh Bachchan has spoken about his college days. In a previous episode, he revealed that he pursued a Bachelor of Science degree (B.Sc.) without fully understanding what it entailed. He explained how he initially scored well in school, which led him to choose the science stream, believing there was more scope for success. However, things didn’t go as planned. He confessed, “In just 45 minutes, it changed everything. For the first time, I failed. Then with great difficulty, I scored 42 percent.”
Despite his struggles in academics, Amitabh Bachchan’s Bollywood journey has been nothing short of legendary. Starting as a voice narrator for Mrinal Sen’s film Bhuvan Shome, the actor steadily gained fame with films like Anand, Guddi, Reshma Aur Shera and Bombay to Goa. However, it was his roles in movies such as Zanjeer, Deewar, Sholay, Amar Akbar Anthony and Don that catapulted him to superstardom.
On the professional front, Amitabh Bachchan last appeared in Jay Bodas and Parth Trivedi’s comedy-drama Fakt Purusho Maate. He will next grace the screen in Ram Madhvani’s Taalismaan.
