The ‘House of Cards‘ actor, who has been battling MeToo allegations, broke down in tears as he disclosed his dire financial situation in an interview on Piers Morgan‘s show ‘Uncensored’. The actor, who has largely stayed out of the public eye since his scandal, opened up about possibly losing his Baltimore home in an auction.
During his first major TV appearance in years, Spacey shared, “My house is being sold at auction, so I have to go back to Baltimore to put all my things in storage.“
When asked why he is going to such an extreme, Spacey candidly replied, “Because I can’t pay the bills that I owe.”
He went on to admit that his debts amount to millions of dollars, these include legal fees. When asked if he was facing bankruptcy, the actor broke down as he responded, “A couple of times I thought I was going to file, but we managed to sort of dodge it. At least as of today.”
The actor was asked how much money he has in his account today, to which Spacey responded, “none.” He went on to admit that he was in debt running into several millions and explained, “You have some sense of legal bills. I still owe a lot…Yes [I am in debt]. It’s considerable. Many millions. The house itself is many millions.”
Spacey also expressed uncertainty about where he will live once the foreclosure process is completed.
Despite his financial woes, the actor is determined to get back on the horse and “ride forward,” he said.
Spacey, who was previously accused of sexually assaulting four men between 2001 and 2013, was found not guilty of all charges last year. However, he is still facing a lawsuit from another man claiming sexual assault, which adds to his ongoing legal and financial troubles.
