Khel Khel Mein‘ had released in cinemas on August 15 along with Shraddha Kapoor’s ‘Stree 2‘ and John Abraham’s ‘Vedaa‘. However, ‘Stree 2’ completely dominated at the box office and how, giving lesser chance to these other two movies, despite them getting rave reviews. ‘Khel Khel Mein’ directed by Mudassar Aziz, starred Akshay Kumar, Taapsee Pannu, Fardeen Khan, Vaani Kapoor, Ammy Virk, Pragya Jaiswal and Aditya Seal.
‘Khel Khel Mein’ is a remake of ‘Perfect Strangers’ and the film is mixed with comedy, drama and thrill as well. Fans were delighted to see Akshay pulling off some comedy after a while and getting back to the genre. So, for those of you, who missed watching the movie in theatres, here’s when you can expect it to release on OTT. According to a report in DNA, the movie will begin streaming on Netflix from October 9 onwards. The publication also quoted the streaming platform which said that the announcement on the film’s release date was made on their app.
Earlier, ETimes had done an exclusive report, speaking to trade experts, exhibitors, distributors and they all felt that ‘Khel Khel Mein’ was a good movie and would have performed better if it released on some other day. The clash with ‘Stree 2’ left ‘Vedaa’ and ‘Khel Khel Mein’ with very few screens. While ‘Stree 2’ had released in around 3500 screens, these other two films had released in about 1800-2000 screens.
However, the OTT release should give it an opportunity to now reach a wider audience, after getting such good reviews.
