Recent episode of MBN variety show “GabojaG”’ ensured that long-rumoured allegations of entertainment producer Kim Kwang Soo, famously known as the founder of MBK Entertainment, would finally be accused of assaulting singer and TV personality Kim Jong Kook, formerly of the group Turbo, on the show.
Famed to be in many groups of K-pop like T-ara, and SG Wannabe, controversy has been part of Kwang Soo’s whole career. For his program’s MC’s Ahn Jung Hwan and Hong Hyun Hee to approach the topic would mean caution not to tread on his fragile ego. As the hosts began to tell, Kwang Soo himself said he wanted that cleared first.
Hong Hyun Hee directly asked him if he indeed physically attacked Kim Jong Kook and said she was shocked to hear it because she thought that he is too gentle-looking. Ahn Jung Hwan agrees with her sentiments, joking that he’s so buff.
Kim clarified that the assault incident actually happened when Turbo was under another company. He said he signed Turbo to his agency through a merger, and because of that, people concluded that he was the perpetrator of the assault.”It was something that happened between Turbo and their previous company’s CEO,” Kwang Soo clarified. “But because they were under my agency at the time, it appeared as though I was the one who assaulted them.”
Kim shares a funny incident wherein later he met Kim Jong Kook. He had complained to him mockingly, “Because of you, I have become the man who insulted you.” According to reports, Kim Jong Kook apologised and said that it was not intentional.
