In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, Kumar Sanu shared his frustrations about the limited playback singing opportunities he has been receiving. He reflected on his successful career, noting that while he is well-respected and his songs are loved, he questioned why his voice is not utilized more in Bollywood.
Sanu da expressed uncertainty about the sincerity of the industry’s affection, pondering, “I wonder why, despite the respect and love I receive, they are not using my voice for more songs.I don’t know if this love is genuine or not, but the respect is certainly there.”
Earlier, Kumar Sanu discussed the issue of a few singers dominating the playback industry while newcomers find it hard to break in. He told Indian Express that there are many singers today, but unfortunately, they all tend to sing in similar styles.
The senior singer noted that this is due to the prevailing compositions, genres, and popular styles, leading listeners to perceive that only a few singers are performing all the songs. Despite their talent, he lamented that these singers often lack individuality.
On the work front, Kumar Sanu recently completed a tour across the USA and Canada. In terms of playback singing, he lent his voice to the song ‘Sweekar Kar Lena’ in Manav Kaul’s film Tribhuvan Mishra CA Topper.
