Lady Gaga reveals why she never reacted to rumours claiming she is a man: 'I am used to lies being printed about me’ | Filmymeet

Lady Gaga recently featured in the second episode of ‘What’s Next? The Future With Bill Gates,’ where she opened up about why she stayed silent on rumors claiming she was actually a man. Early in her career, these headlines were everywhere, but Gaga chose not to address them.
When asked about the rumours back in 2011, she famously responded to CNN with, “Why waste my time on that? My fans don’t care, and neither do I.” Her unapologetic attitude perfectly captures her fearless approach to fame.
Lady Gaga recalled an incident from her early 20s during her conversation with Bill Gates. She mentioned that rumors about her being a man had circulated widely, often coming up in interviews while she traveled for tours and promotions. Edited images on the internet fueled these questions, leaving her to address the topic repeatedly.Gaga explained that she chose not to address the rumours because she didn’t see herself as a victim of them. She considered how a child facing similar accusations might feel and didn’t want to imply there was shame in such claims. Instead, she aimed to challenge the misinformation in a thought-provoking and disruptive manner, using it to make a different point.

Gaga reflected on her experience with misinformation, stating that she has been accustomed to false stories about her since her early twenties. As a performer, she views it with a sense of humor, finding the situation somewhat amusing.

Grammy and Oscar winner Lady Gaga is preparing for a major season with the release of “Joker: Folie à Deux,” which recently premiered at the Venice Film Festival. The movie hits theaters on October 4 via Warner Bros. Gaga also topped the charts with her Bruno Mars debut, “Die With a Smile,” and will release the first single from her upcoming seventh album in October, with the full album expected in 2025.
