Mahira’s emotional tribute described her uncle as a larger-than-life figure who was deeply special to her.“My one and only mamu Mamu… It’s hard to imagine that my handsome, larger-than-life Mamu is no more,” she wrote.
“He gave us the most beautiful childhood, showed unconditional love and respect to his mother, and was a father figure to my khala. He never complained and always spoke kindly. He was deeply invested in our lives and often wrote to us when he felt strongly about something. He never missed a single ‘Good morning precious’ message. He brought us laughter, music, and most importantly, his angel Mani, whom he lovingly called ‘Jannoo’. It’s been two weeks since you left us, and writing this is tougher than I imagined,” she added.
Mahira concluded her tribute by expressing her hope that her uncle is now reunited with their grandparents and his baby son Umer. “We all miss you Mamu… always will… I’m sure you’re in the arms of Nana and Nani, with your baby Umer cuddled beside you. Ameen. Please do make a prayer for my mamu, Akber Khan, when you read this.”
The post garnered an outpouring of support and condolences from fans and colleagues alike. Actress Hiramani commented, “Allah kay pass sub se ziada sukoon main hain inshallah,” while Mawra Hocane and Durefishan Saleem left heartfelt emojis.
On a personal note, Mahira Khan remarried last year, tying the knot with businessman Salim Karim after her previous marriage to Ali Askari, with whom she has a 13-year-old son named Azlan.
Professionally, Mahira is set to appear in the upcoming series ‘Jo Bachay Hain Sang Samait Lo,’ alongside Fawad Khan and Sanam Saeed. The series is based on Farhat Ishtiaq’s bestselling Urdu novel, adding to Mahira’s impressive body of work.
