Speaking about it in an interview with ETimes, Malavika said, “ But it was a running joke on the sets . Usually it is the actresses who are shown in bikinis and swimming costumes, and here the actresses were more dressed than the hero (laughs) . I used to find it very funny and I don’t think any other actor would have done it other than Vikram Sir. “
Responding to it Vikram said, “Initially I was not feeling very conscious, but when I took off my robe and I was standing there .. it suddenly hit me. When we finally began shooting, Ranjith was like this is going to be even more skimpier push it up more. And when Malavika came on the set, she went ‘ what is happening?’. But after a point you get used to it because everyone was dressed like that, even women were only in their sarees though Malavika was the most clothed one after the horse (laughs). Then one day Ranjith’s friend came to the set and she was wearing these fancy clothes with glasses and all of us were looking at her very sadly thinking ‘ what is wrong with her?’ “
