Veteran actress Mandakini, whose last on-screen appearance was in the 1996 film ‘Zordaar’, took a trip down memory lane on Wednesday. She posted a throwback photo with her ‘Dushman’ co-star Mithun Chakraborty on Instagram. The duo were rumoured to be dating in the 1980s. The picture she shared is a glimpse from the song ‘Hoton Pe Tumne Pyar Likha Hai’.
Mandakini, who has over 120K Instagram followers, shared a photo from the song ‘Hoton Pe Tumne Pyar Likha Hai’.In the song’s still, Mandakini is seen wearing a yellow saree as Mithun hugs her from behind. Along with the post, she wrote, “Can you guess the song?”
While an Instagram user commented on the post,” Hoton Pe Tumne Pyar Likha Hai,” Another wrote, “Old time”. The 1990 film ‘Dushman’ was directed by Shakti Samanta.
In the 1980s, Mithun was at the height of his career and was starring in a lot of movies. He enjoyed a huge fan following and immense popularity during that period. Particularly well-liked was his on-screen chemistry with Mandakini, which had fans excited about their upcoming work together. As they kept making appearances together in movies, there were rumours that they may be dating off-screen.
On the personal front, Mandakini tied the knot with Dr. Kagyur T. Rinpoche Thakur, a Buddhist monk. They have a son named Rabbil and a daughter named Rabze Innaya. She rose to fame when she played the lead alongside Rajiv Kapoor, the youngest son of film producer-director Raj Kapoor, in the 1985 film ‘Ram Teri Ganga Maili’.
After that, Mandakini acted in popular movies like Pyaar Karke Dekho with Govinda, Dance Dance with Mithun, and Kahan Hai Kanoon with Aditya Pancholi. She has appeared in several films, including Taqdeer Ka Tamasha, Sheshnaag, and Jung Baaz.
Her last onscreen appearance was in the Ajay Kashyap-directed 1996 movie ‘Zordaar’. It also starred Govinda, Aditya Pancholi, and Neelam in pivotal roles.
