A report by US Weekly, details a series of back-to-back text messages from Iwamasa (the actor’s assistant) asking for more ketamine almost every day, with at least one instance involving illegal drug deals in the early morning hours.
The records also detail how the ‘Friends’ star and Iwamasa met the now-infamous doctor, Dr Salvador Plasencia, known as “Dr P,” in a parking lot to receive ketamine injections in the back of a car. During this meeting, Perry’s assistant and the doctor exchanged thousands of dollars in cash for bottles of the drug, which the FDA has approved as a general anesthetic. However, some doctors prescribe ketamine for “off-label” uses, such as treating depression, while others use it for its hallucinogenic effects, which can be dangerous when taken recreationally.
The documents reveal that Dr. P visited Perry’s home on multiple occasions to administer ketamine injections, including one instance where he injected Perry just hours after the actor had already received a ketamine infusion. This double administration led to a spike in Perry’s systolic blood pressure, leaving him unable to speak or move. The reports indicate that within a 9-day period, after purchasing 25 vials of the substance illegally, the assistant bought another 25 bottles for USD 6,000. Allegedly, the assistant injected Perry six times that same day, and over the next 72 hours, administered at least 18 more injections.
The report also suggests that on September 30 Iwamasa allegedly paid USD 4,500 for the drug. Later on October 2, the assistant seemingly asked for 8 vials of the drug, and on the same day, he bought ketamine lozenges from Dr. Plasencia for around USD 2000. Four days later, on October 6, the doctor visited the actor’s home to administer a drug, with Iwamasa mentioning only one vial remained. He allegedly sold one or more vials to the assistant, with payment reportedly made in cash. On October 8, Dr. Salvador Plasencia allegedly sold two vials to Iwamasa for USD 6,000.
The reports further state that on October 10, the doctor administered the drug to the actor in a public parking lot in Long Beach, California, and also provided his assistant with more ketamine vials. Following this, the assistant asks a broker/ dealer Erik Fleming to buy more substances, and the latter responds that he can sell 10ml vials for USD 300 and asks for a USD 1000 brokering fee.

On October 13 and 14, the dealer delivered 25 vials of the drug to the actor’s house, and the assistant allegedly told him that he would purchase those for USD 5500, and would give USD 500 as a ‘logistics’ fee. Later between October 23 and 24, the assistant asks the broker for more substance, and the latter responds, “You want same amount? Put the 5500 together asap and ill come get it as soon as possible to get it all done tonight.” The assistant allegedly drove to Perry’s home to get the cash and the following day returned with at least 25 vials of the substance. The report further states that at least six shots of the drug were given to the actor, by his assistant in the following 3 days. The assistant administered at least 3 shots of the drug to Perry on October 28, and the actor passed away on the same day, the report claims.
