Matthew Perry, or as the world recalls him ‘Chandler’ from ‘FRIENDS’ left the mortal world last year in October. In this past year, a lot has happened, and a lot has changed, including the selling of his Pacific Palisades home to Anita Verma-Lallian, a real estate developer and film producer with Indian roots. This is the very house where tragically Matthew was found unresponsive. It was bought by Perry in 2020 for $6 million (Rs 50.5 crore), and it has been sold to Anita at $8.55 million (approximately Rs 72.04 crore) in an off-market deal.
The new owner of the house, Anita Verma mentioned that she fell for the property as soon as she saw it. “The moment I walked into the home, I absolutely fell in love with the features, especially the view of the Pacific Ocean. We knew it was “the one” and decided to write an offer on it immediately,” she mentioned in her post.
She purchased it during Diwali, as it is one of the most auspicious times, especially for new beginnings according to Indian culture. Taking to her social media handle, Anita wrote, “We are so excited to share that we bought a home in Los Angeles earlier this month!”
Marking the new beginning, Anita Verma-Lillian and her husband performed a pooja as they entered the home. They shared pictures and videos of the same on social media.
Talking of the property, located in the hills, it spans 3,500 square feet, giving an eye-pleasing view of the ocean. Facilitated with several amenities, including a fire pit, covered patios, and large glass walls the Pacific Palisade home has four stunning bedrooms, four-and-a-half bathrooms, a huge living room, a splendid dining room, a chef’s kitchen, and a built-in wine wall. Its interiors are chic and modern, making it a perfect abode.
Anita will be adding her own signature to the property, and at the same time maintaining Matthew’s legacy. In her post, she mentioned that she will be keeping certain key features of the house untouched. For instance, the Batman logo in the pool.
“We chose to honor the positive aspects of the previous owner’s life, his immense talent, and all the joy he brought to so many people. The decision to purchase the home had nothing to do with the previous owner, just our love of the home. We do plan to keep some of the design elements. The batman logo in the pool is definitely staying 🤣🙏. It’s a piece of paradise that is filled with light and the perfect vacation home for us. Can’t wait to make new memories in it 🙏🙏🧿,” read her post.
The Pacific Palisades home was not the only property owned by Perry. He had a penthouse in Los Angeles, which later Rihanna bought for $21 million. He also had a beach house in Malibu.
