Miley Cyrus Lawsuit: Miley Cyrus sued over Grammy-winning 'Flowers', accused of copying Bruno Mars' song | Filmymeet

Miley Cyrus is being sued for copyright infringement, accused of copying Bruno Mars’ song for her hit, ‘Flowers.’
According to documents obtained by TMZ, Tempo Music Investments claims that Cyrus’ 2023 hit has “many musical similarities” to Mars’ 2012 song “When I Was Your Man.” The company, which owns part of the copyright for Mars’ track, alleges that the chorus, harmony, melody, chord progressions, and lyrics of “Flowers” were “intentionally” copied.
However, Mars himself is not listed as a plaintiff in the lawsuit.
Representatives for Bruno Mars, 38, and Miley Cyrus, 31, have not yet responded to Page Six’s requests for comment.

Earlier this year, Miley Cyrus won her first Grammys as ‘Flowers’ took home both Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance, beating out artists like Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish. During her acceptance speech, Cyrus expressed that while the award was meaningful, she hoped it wouldn’t change her life, emphasizing that although not everyone receives a Grammy, everyone is remarkable in their own way.

The two-time Grammy winner is rumoured to have written ‘Flowers’ about her ex-husband,

Liam Hemsworth, to whom she was married from 2018 to 2020. Despite being in the music industry for decades, Cyrus later questioned why it took so long to receive recognition from the Recording Academy. In a June interview with W Magazine, she expressed confusion over the criteria for Grammy acknowledgment, pointing out both her success in numbers and her impact on culture.
However, the pop star made it clear that her remarks were not about arrogance but rather self-pride. Cyrus began her career at 12, starring in Disney Channel’s ‘Hannah Montana’ from 2006 to 2011. She later went on to top the charts with hits like ‘Party in the U.S.A.’ and ‘Wrecking Ball.’
