Farhan Akhtar arrived at the trailer launch of Mirzapur Season 3. The actor filmmaker who’s co-produced the show talked about the success of the Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal and Vijay Varma co-starrer.
Talking about the success of the past two seasons of the show, Farhan said, “One of the reasons has to be the writing of the show. If the writing is not good nothing is going to work.We live in an age where if you don’t like what you are watching, with a click of a button, you can just see something else. So, the writing has to engage you, the characters have to be exciting.”
He continued saying, “With this incredible talent pool that we have on stage and in the show, it’s very, very difficult to turn your eyes away. So, whether it’s this show (Mirzapur) and the other shows (Inside Edge and Made in Heaven) that you mentioned, we’ve been very fortunate and blessed to have a strong creative team, who know how to write for today’s audience, and that’s what I would credit them with.”He further went on to appreciate the team saying, “The creative team has worked hard, Guru (Gurmeet Singh, the director), and the fantastic talent, these are the people who go out there and make the show for you, to make it what it is. We’re blessed to have these people collaborate with us on the show. The way Mirzapur has made a place in the hearts of the audience all across the world… wherever I go people ask me two-three questions, one is, ‘What are you doing here? When will Don 3 and Mirzapur 3 come? These are the questions that I’m asked. So, I’m very happy that is finally happening.”
