According to a report by Sacnilk, ‘Mr.Bachchan’ has garnered a total of just 8.11 crores in India by its fourth day. The film had an initial boost with paid premieres on Wednesday, bringing in Rs. 1.8 crores. However, the subsequent days saw a sharp decline in earnings. On its opening day, Thursday, the film made Rs. 3.45 crores, followed by Rs. 1.1 crores on Friday and just 85 lakhs on Saturday. The diminishing numbers indicate that the film is facing challenges in maintaining viewer interest.
The movie’s performance in Telugu-speaking regions, where it was expected to do well, has also been lacklustre. On Sunday, August 18th, the overall Telugu occupancy was a mere 20.13%, with the highest attendance during evening shows at 24.06%. The morning shows saw the lowest occupancy at just 12.65%.
‘Mr. Bachchan’ is an official remake of the 2018 Hindi film ‘Raid’ starring Ajay Devgan and tells the story of an Income Tax officer, played by Ravi Teja, who is assigned to conduct a raid on the house of an MP, portrayed by Jagapathi Babu. The film also marks the Tollywood debut of Bhagyashri Borse, who plays Ravi Teja’s love interest, Jikki.
