Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor starrer Mr and Mrs Mahi, directed by Sharan Sharma had a great run in its first week where it minted Rs 24.45 crore at the box office. But its second week run can be termed as underwhelming as the film earned just Rs 8.81 crore.
The film began its second week on a low number of Rs 1.3 crore on Friday which was a near 28 percent drop from Thursday numbers.Mr and Mrs Mahi earned Rs 2.15 crore on Saturday and Rs 2 crore on Sunday. The film continued a low scoring trend, earning Rs 85 lakh on Monday, Rs 90 lakh on Tuesday and Rs 85 lakh and Wednesday. The film dropped further and earned Rs 76 lakh on Thursday, as per early estimates by Sacnilk, thus taking the overall collection of Mr and Mrs Mahi to Rs 33.23 crore.
The film has turned out to be the second hit of the year for Rajkummar with Srikanth being the first. The actor has moved onto his next project, as he recently announced ‘Stree 2‘ release for August 15. Another reason for the subdued performance of Mr and Mrs Mahi can be attributed to the release of Abhay Verma, Sharvari and Mona Singh starrer Munjya, which earned Rs 35 crore in its first week.
