Speaking with Ranveer Allahbadia, Chhabra reflected on Salman Khan’s legacy and his iconic performances in several films. When asked whether he agrees with the notion that Salman is an underutilized actor, Chhabra disagreed, saying, “No, he has given many great performances.”
Chhabra, who directed the late Sushant Singh Rajput in Dil Bechara, highlighted some of Salman Khan’s standout films, including Baaghi, Patthar Ke Phool, Tere Naam, Love, and Hum Aapke Hain Koun.He stressed that no one could replicate Salman’s performances in these movies.
Addressing why some people might think Salman is underutilized, Chhabra noted that when Salman wants to deliver a powerful performance, he certainly does, as evidenced by his work in numerous iconic Hindi films.
Discussing the narratives created around Salman Khan, Chhabra mentioned that these ideas often originate from a few voices on social media. He humorously pointed out that “random people like Chintu, Bablu, and Tinku” are responsible for spreading such narratives.
Chhabra further praised Salman Khan’s roles in films like Bajrangi Bhaijaan, No Entry, and Partner, saying that no one else could have portrayed those “simple and honest” characters the way Salman did. He added that these films became hits without the extensive promotional strategies that are common today, indicating their timeless appeal.

The conversation also touched on Shah Rukh Khan, with Chhabra agreeing with the sentiment that SRK is the “last of the stars.” He explained that while the film industry has many talented actors, Shah Rukh Khan remains unparalleled. Chhabra stated, “The galaxy is huge, and there can be many stars, but he will remain the biggest,” emphasizing that SRK’s stature in Bollywood is unmatched.
Addressing the insider-outsider debate in Bollywood, Chhabra pointed out that Shah Rukh Khan, despite being an outsider, has reached the pinnacle of success. He described SRK as the ultimate answer to this ongoing discussion.
Sharing his experience of working with SRK on the film Jawan, Chhabra mentioned that Shah Rukh’s dedication to his craft is awe-inspiring. Despite his success, SRK continues to work with a level of passion that sets him apart. “Looking at him, one would think a person should be just like him,” Chhabra remarked.
On the professional front, Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up to start shooting for his upcoming action film King this year. Directed by Sujoy Ghosh and produced by SRK and Siddharth Anand, the film also marks Suhana Khan’s big break following her debut in Zoya Akhtar’s OTT film The Archies. Abhishek Bachchan is also expected to play a villainous role in the movie.
