Veteran star Mukesh Khanna, who had shared the screen with the late Raaj Kumar in movies like ‘Saudagar’, ‘Betaaj Badshah’, and ‘Jawab’, recalled some anecdotes from the time he worked with the late actor.
In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Mukesh recounted an incident when Raaj Kumar was walking towards the set and noticed Rajesh Khanna, Jeetendra, and a few other actors gathered.Raaj Kumar then approached the director and remarked that it seemed like the director had assembled quite a few junior artists. Mukesh also shared that Raaj Kumar once told Zeenat Aman that she should have been in the movies, expressing his surprise that she wasn’t already a part of the film industry.
In the same interview, Mukesh shared that he was easily frightened and recounted his experiences with Amjad Khan and Sunil Dutt. He mentioned an instance when he said something objectionable to Amjad Khan, who responded by grabbing him and turning him around, telling him that if he wanted to arm-wrestle, he should speak to him face-to-face. Mukesh also recalled an incident with Sunil Dutt, where Sunil became upset because Mukesh wasn’t making eye contact during a take. Sunil then grabbed him by the collar, turned him around, and told him to speak directly to him.
