Munjya Box Office: Abhay Verma and Sharvari starrer is now the third highest grossing Hindi film of the year with Rs 89.95 crore collection; beats Crew | Hindi Movie News Filmymeet

Abhay Verma, Mona Singh and Sharvari starrer Munjya, directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, is turning out to be a giant slayer at the box office. The box office journey of the film has been a surprise even for the people involved with the film. In an exclusive interview with ETimes, director Aditya shared that the makers were tracking numbers which the research group had given them and producers go by that number only.However, with Munjya, the number they were given for the entire weekend, the film earned that much just on its first day!

Munjya which is based on a Maharashtrian folklore, has now become the third highest grossing Hindi film of the year, beating Tabu, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Kriti Sanon starrer Crew. Just yesterday, the film had taken the fourth position by displacing Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon starrer Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya.

Munjya had earned Rs 67.95 crore in two weeks, and over the third weekend it added another Rs 15.25 crore to its collection. On Monday, the film earned Rs 2.25 crore, and Tuesday, it minted Rs 2.15 crore , and on Wednesday the film added another Rs 2.15 crore as per early estimates by Sacnilk, taking the total collection of the film to Rs 89.95 crore, thus beating Crew which had earned Rs 88.5 crore at the box office, as per IMDB.
The going for the film from hereon will start to become difficult with the release of Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD starring Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas and Deepika Padukone which has taken a flying start at the box office and is also getting great reviews.
