According to Sacnilk.com, the film that saw a 50% drop in numbers on its first Monday, maintained a steady graph on Tuesday.The film earned an impressive Rs 4 crore on Day 5, emerging as the highest-earning film on Tuesday. It beat out competitors like ‘Mr and Mrs Mahi’ starring Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao and also the Hollywood film ‘Bad Boys: Ride or Die’ starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence in the lead.
Munjya, which began its box office run with a collection of Rs 4 crore on Friday, saw good growth on Saturday, earning Rs 7.25 crore and followed it up with Sunday’s collection of Rs 8 crore.
The film’s 5-day total now stands at an estimated Rs 27.25 crore nett.
The Aditya Sarpotdar directorial starring Sharvari Wagh, Abhay Verma, Mona Singh, and Sathyaraj in key roles is poised to cross the Rs 30 crore mark in its first week, setting it up to become one of the highest-earning film releases of June 2023.
Munjya’s box office success has been linked to its appeal across various regions, thanks to its lower ticket prices and genre that delves into Indian myth and folklore. This marks another win for the production house Maddock Films, which has consistently catered to the lower middle-class audience with smaller films.
