Following her disqualification from the Paris Olympics 2024, Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat announced her retirement. Vinesh Phogat’s decision left her fans and celebrities heartbroken with some of them even sharing their disappointment on social media. Television star Nakuul Mehta also joined them to share his views on the wrestler’s decision.
Nakuul Mehta shared a screenshot of Vinesh Phogat’s retirement post and added a broken heart emoji to express his discontent. Vinesh Phogat’s statement read, “Mom, wrestling won against me, I lost. Please forgive me, your dreams, my courage, everything has been shattered. I don’t have anymore strength now. Goodbye Wrestling 2001-2024. I will always be indebted to you all. Forgive me.”
When Vinesh Phogat was disqualified from the Paris Olympics 2024, several celebrities including Pooja Bhatt, Elvish Yadav, Divyanka Tripathi and Ankita Lokhande, extended their support to the wrestler. Their messages of encouragement and solidarity provided a significant boost to Vinesh during this challenging time.
Earlier, even Samantha Ruth Prabhu also expressed her sadness over Vinesh Phogat’s disqualification.
Coming back to Nakuul Mehta, the television actor actively follows sports and shares his views on pivotal developments. When Vinesh Phogat secured victory in the semi-final match at the Olympics 2024, the actor, in a short note, reflected on her spirit to stand against the system. He wrote, “And her Olympic showing might come a close second to her standing up to authority and fighting the system relentlessly.”
Work-wise, Nakuul Mehta is soon expected to take hosting responsibilities for the upcoming show Crime Patrol. His last appearance was in the web series Bada Sheher Choti Family opposite Erica Fernandes. Nakuul Mehta debuted in 2012 with the hit serial Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara. His role as Shivaay Singh Oberoi in Ishqbaaaz further made him rise to popularity.
