A couple of weeks ago, news circulated that Nayanthara would not be playing the lead role in the sequel to the 2020 blockbuster ‘Mookuthi Amman.’ Media reports and speculations suggested that the makers were considering actresses Trisha and Shruti Haasan for the lead. However, squashing all the rumors, the makers announced last night that Nayanthara will indeed be playing the lead role in ‘Mookuthi Amman 2.’
The production house took to social media to share a video announcing Nayanthara’s return as the goddess in the sequel.Sharing the video, the makers said, “Let the good receive her blessings. Let the evil be crushed at her feet. Lady Superstar Nayanthara is back to enthrall us in #MookuthiAmman2.”

‘Mookuthi Amman’ starred RJ Balaji, Nayanthara, Moulee, Urvashi, and Smruthi Venkat, among others. The makers have yet to reveal if the second part of the film will feature the same cast and crew or if there will be changes. As of now, only Nayanthara’s role has been confirmed.
