Neelam Kothari recalls a hilarious language barrier with Govinda, calls working with Aamir as 'pleasure'
Neelam Kothari reminisced about her first meeting with Govinda, noting the humorous language barrier as he spoke Hindi and she spoke English. She also recalled working with Aamir Khan on ‘Afsana Pyar Ka’, praising his dedication. Neelam recently returned to the spotlight in ‘Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives’.

Neelam Kothari has won over audiences with her performances in various hit Hindi films. Throughout her career, she has had the opportunity to work alongside major stars like Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, and Saif Ali Khan. Recently, she recalled her first meeting with Govinda, one of her most memorable collaborators.
In a conversation with Radio Nasha, Neelam recounted her first encounter with Govinda, who greeted her in Hindi. She humorously noted the potential communication barrier, as she only spoke English while he spoke Hindi.
She also shared that their interaction was amusing, yet they managed to understand each other perfectly despite the language difference. When it came to their dance steps, when it came to their songs, they were very competitive. Who’s doing it better? She wanted to do better than him, he wanted to do better than her. The combination worked. The audiences loved it.
In the same interview, Kothari reminisced about her collaboration with Aamir Khan in the 1991 romantic drama ‘Afsana Pyar Ka‘. She fondly recalled filming the popular track “Tip Tip,” which was completed in just three days. Neelam noted that there was a certain sweetness in the simplicity of that time, stating that Aamir was a pleasure to work with. She described him as very particular about his scenes and performances, often suggesting, “Let’s do one more shot,” highlighting his dedication to his craft.
On the work front, Neelam made her return to the entertainment industry with her appearance in the reality series ‘Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives‘. In the show, she shares the spotlight with fellow stars Maheep Kapoor, Bhavna Pandey, and Seema Kiran Sajdeh across two exciting seasons. The recently released third season, now titled ‘Fabulous Lives vs. Bollywood Wives’, introduces new faces, including Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, sister of actor Ranbir Kapoor; art collector Shalini Passi; and entrepreneur Kalyani Saha Chawla, who is well-connected in Bollywood circles.
