The late actress’ paternal aunt Arati Das addressed the media from their family home in Karimganj and said to TOI, “She went to Mumbai with big hopes to become an actress. However, she was fighting hard to achieve this. The police said on Monday that a team broke open her flat door after receiving complaints of a foul smell from her Oshiwara home. On going inside the residence, the team found her partly mutilated and decomposing body. She had allegedly hanged herself on Thursday.
Her mortal remains were handed over to one of her friends and professional colleagues, A.N. Pathak, who organised her last rites on Sunday through an NGO. Her parents could not be present for the funeral as they had left for their home just last week.
