NTR Jr is one of the rising stars of Indian Cinema, his last release SS Rajamouli’s RRR, is one of the biggest hits of Indian Cinema, and the expectations from his upcoming film Devara are also sky high. The trailer of the film was launched in Mumbai on 10th September in the presence of NTR Jr, Saif Ali Khan, Janhvi Kapoor, Kortala Siva and Karan Johar.
The trailer, though high in scale and action, received mixed response from the audiences.The impact of it can now be seen in the advance booking of the film, which has gone on sale in the United States of America. The film has already crossed US $ 1 million mark for premiere shows, making it the first Indian film to do so.
But since then, the number trend is dipping despite a rise in number of shows and locations, like on Thursday morning, the film had added just US $ 80,000, whereas the day before, the film had added US $ 109900 to its kitty. And on Friday morning, the film managed to sell tickets worth only US $ 63045, taking the overall premiere day sale number to US $ 1103000, selling about 37000 tickets. The break even point for the film in North America is pegged at US $ 5.5 million.
In Devara, NTR Jr, plays a dual role ( Father-Son) with Janhvi Kapoor playing the love interest for the younger version, while Saif Ali Khan is playing the nemesis. The film marks the Telugu debut of both Bollywood actors. The film was supposed to be one film, but a couple of months back the makers decided to split the film into two parts, with Bobby Deol joining the team in the second part.
