Heughan also posted a snapshot of his final scripts, giving fans a reminder that the end is near.
For those unfamiliar with production terminology, the “final block” refers to the last two episodes of ‘Outlander’, which will bring to a close the epic time-travelling love story between Claire and Jamie. The series, based on Diana Gabaldon’s best-selling book series, has captivated audiences worldwide with its sweeping romance and historical fantasy elements.
Leading lady Caitriona also took to her handle to share a reel featuring herself, Heughan, and their onscreen daughter, Sophie Skelton, who plays Brianna. “Here we are… 11 years, 101 episodes, and a whole lotta love, sweat, and tears (and some blood),” Balfe wrote, expressing her gratitude to the show’s cast, crew, and dedicated fans. “It’s been a journey and a half,” she added.
Sophie joined in the nostalgia by posting a photo captioned, “Bring your dog to final read-through day,” adding a touch of light-heartedness to the otherwise bittersweet occasion.
