Pahlaj Nihalani REACTS to controversy surrounding Govinda's revolver accident: 'I don't know why so many questions are being asked...' - Exclusive
Film producer Pahlaj Nihalani hopes to see Govinda return to acting and dancing. He recalled being impressed by Govinda’s dancing videos, leading to his casting in Ilzaam. Nihalani praised Govinda as a complete actor, expressing concern over recent controversy, but remains optimistic about his future contributions to cinema.

Film producer Pahlaj Nihalani, who worked with Govinda recently, wishes to see the actor back in the game of acting and dancing, which he aced. Pahlaj recalls Govinda coming to his office with video cassettes of his dancing—moonwalk and breakdance—after which he decided to sign him for Ilzaam.
Talking about the same, Nihalani said, “I initially had Mithun Chakraborty as my leading man, and the title of the film was ‘Rampuri’, but he had become a busy actor and we couldn’t get a combination date with Shatrughan Sinha.I was upset with him. Rikku Rakesh Nath sent Govinda to me, who came with his video cassettes, and I was impressed with him, so I immediately signed him.”

Elaborating further, Nihalani added, “I changed the backdrop of the story to dancing, but he was not just a great dancer but a complete actor. He had everything from emotion to dancing to action, and that too Rambo style. The bare body action in the climax of walking on the wall was done by him and no body double.”

Nihalani, who worked with Govinda in ‘Rangeela Raja‘ in 2019, is disturbed about the controversy surrounding the accident for no rhyme or reason. He said, “I really don’t know why so many questions are being asked about an incident that was an accident. Govinda is fine, but at least people are talking about him and coming to meet him, and I really want to see him do a lot of good work. The best is yet to come from him.”
