In order to portray Murlikant Petkar in the biopic ‘Chandu Champion’, Kartik Aaryan made a special effort to concentrate on his physical transformation. And he has been receiving recognition from a number of places. Navdeep Singh, who made history at the 2024 Paris Paralympics by winning a gold medal in the F41 classification, has disclosed that the role inspired him to perform to the best of his abilities at the tournament.
Speaking to India Today, Navdeep made his confession. At the event, Kartik met Avani Lekhara, Navdeep, and Sumit Antil, among other Paralympic champions from Paris 2024. During the conversation, Navdeep talked about the personal connection with the role. He shared, “I had specially downloaded the movie and watched it on the way to the Paris Olympics. I got motivated after watching the film, how the coach motivated Kartik, and watching Dara Singh’s fight, and wanted to be like him, there I got so much of motivation. Although, the entire film is full of motivation, but I like those parts.”
‘Chandu Champion’ is a biopic of Murlikant Petkar, who was born in Maharashtra on November 1, 1944, and became India’s first gold medallist in the Paralympic Games. The movie chronicles his life’s many stages and setbacks. Petkar was a multi-sport star, but his specialities were hockey and wrestling. Kartik and Kabir worked together for the first time in ‘Chandu Champion’. The film was released on June 14. The film is jointly Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and Kabir Khan.
On the work front, Kartik is gearing up for the release of his upcoming horror comedy ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ alongside Vidya Balan, Triptii Dimri, and Madhuri Dixit. It is scheduled to be released around Diwali. The film will clash at the big screens with Rohit Shetty’s cop drama ‘Singham Again’. It features an ensemble star cast that includes Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranveer Singh, Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, Tiger Shroff and Arjun Kapoor.
