The opening ceremony, held along the scenic River Seine, featured Indian sports stars PV Sindhu and Sharath Kamal leading the Indian contingent as flag bearers.
According to reports, 78 athletes and members of the support staff were on a boat, enthusiastically cheering for India during the opening ceremony of the games. They all proudly waved the Tricolor. Notably, Deepika Padukone’s father, legendary badminton player Prakash Padukone, was also on the Indian boat. Deepika shared this special moment on Instagram, tagging it with #Olympics2024 and choosing “Lehra Do,” the song from Kabir Khan’s directorial venture “83,” for her story.
Meanwhile, actress Taapsee Pannu shared a special moment on her Instagram stories, featuring her husband, Mathias Boe, at the Paris Olympics. The image captured Boe standing with a group of Indian supporters, proudly holding the Indian flag.
Alia Bhatt dedicated an Instagram story to the Indian athletes and wrote, “Onwards and Upwards Team India.”
Ajay Devgn took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his admiration for the Indian athletes set to participate in the 2024 Olympics. Calling them the “pride of our nation,” Ajay emphasized that they are the “best” in their performance and wished them success.
Suniel Shetty also extended best wishes to the athletes and wrote, “Wishing our incredible athletes the very best for the Paris Olympics.The nation stands behind you as you #GoForGlory. Jai Hind.”
