After the success of ‘Stree 2‘, which starred Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor and made a huge impact at the box office since its Independence Day 2024 release, the makers have announced that a third installment is in works. However, Rajkummar’s wife, Patralekhaa, has decided not to join ‘Stree 3‘. She expressed her admiration for the on-screen pairing of Rajkummar and Shraddha and chose to step aside from the project.
In an interview with Filmygyan, Patralekhaa was asked if she consider joining ‘Stree 3’ alongside her husband, Rajkummar Rao.She said, “No, Shraddha hai. Unki jodi bahut mast hai. Abhishek hai, Apar hai, Pankaj, wo world set hai.”
‘Stree 2’ is the sequel to the 2018 blockbuster Stree, continuing the chilling events in the town of Chanderi. The film features Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Abhishek Banerjee, Aparshakti Khurana, and Pankaj Tripathi reprising their beloved roles. The film which turned out to be a superhit was directed by Amar Kaushik. It has now surpassed the lifetime box office collection of Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 and Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan with Rs 586 crore in the domestic market.
Moreover, Patralekhaa recently starred in the limited series ‘IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack‘, where she received acclaim for her portrayal of air hostess Indrani. Released on August 29, the series is directed by Anubhav Sinha and features a talented cast, including Vijay Varma, Dia Mirza, Naseeruddin Shah, Kumud Mishra, Pankaj Kapur, Pooja Gor, and Amrita Puri. The story is based on true events surrounding the hijacking incident.
