Prabhas’ Kalki 2898 AD witnesses major drop on third Monday to collect just Rs 3.85 crore | Hindi Movie News Filmymeet

From the day of its release, Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD has been setting box office records not only in India, but across the globe for Indian films. But it seems like the film is finally getting ready to cool its heels at the box office.

The film has minted about Rs 580.15 crore at the Indian box office, of which Rs 414.85 crore came in first week and Rs 128.5 crore came in second weekend.In the third weekend, the film earned about Rs 36.8 crore of which Rs 16.45 crore came on Sunday. And on Monday, the film crashed by more than 75 % to collect just Rs 3.85 crore, as per early estimates by Sacnilk. This is the first time in its near 3 week run that the collection of the film has fallen below Rs 6 crore mark.
The total collection of the film now stands at Rs 584 crore, and will most likely cross the Rs 600 crore mark by the coming weekend.The film is currently the most expensive film of Indian Cinema with a production budget of Rs 600 crore and features names like Amitabh Bachchan,Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani with guest appearances by SS Rajamouli, Ram Gopal Varma, Vijay Deverakonda, Dulquer Salmaan and Mrunal Thakur.
The film in North America has also become the second highest grossing Indian film, beating Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan.
