The troubles for music mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs don’t seem to be getting less. According to the latest reports, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has tried to reach witnesses and victims in his case to influence the verdict of the jury. Following this act, the prosecutors urged that Diddy should be denied his bail, which he applied for the third time.
Reportedly, the government accusations were made late Friday in a Manhattan federal court. Sean filed for the latest $50m bail proposal, which was turned town, even before the bail hearing that is scheduled for next week.
Prosecutors presented a review of the recorded jail calls made by Combs that highlighted Diddy told his family members to reach out to potential victims and witnesses and urge them to make their narratives to influence the jury.
In addition, Sean was accused of creating a marketing strategy to change his public image.
According to The Guardian, prosecutors wrote, “The defendant has shown repeatedly – even while in custody – that he will flagrantly and repeatedly flout rules to improperly impact the outcome of his case. The defendant has shown, in other words, that he cannot be trusted to abide by rules or conditions.”
It was further pointed out that Combs has tried to silence victims and influence witnesses to strengthen his defense. Combs Lawyers did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
According to the prosecutors, this isn’t the first time Combs has broken the law. He has been breaking rules since his arrest in September. The hip-hop artist has pledged nonguilty on all the sex trafficking and racketeering charges made against him.
Earlier the two judges to whom he proposed for bail, rejected his request and concluded that he is a threat to society and there are risks that he might flee. Thus, his attorneys tried the third time with a $50m bail proposal.
