After the success of ‘Dream Girl’ 1 and 2, director Raaj Shaandilyaa is back with another comedy titled, ‘Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video‘. The movie stars Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri in the lead.

In an exclusive interview with ETimes, the director opened up about how this time he went ahead with Rajkummar and not with Ayushmann Khurrana despite delivering two back to back hits with the ‘Vicky Donor‘ actor.He said, “After working with Ayushmann in Dream Girl 1 and 2, while writing Vicky-Vidya we felt Rajkummar suited the role more. It wasn’t like Ayushmann did not suit the role but Rajkummar was more closer to the character. I also wanted to work with Rajkummar for the longest time. Both are fabulous actors and I’m sure in my next film Ayushmann will be there.”
The director further added, “Rajkummar is such an amazing actor, he fits into anything. Doing comedy on screen is one of the toughest things, but Rajkummar does it with natural flair which you can see that in films like Stree 1 and 2, in Ludo, and also in Bareilly Ki Barfi. He’s also very intelligent and understands the nuances of comedy, since the film is set in the 90s, he kept the acting of those times in mind and performed.”

‘Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video’ is slated to release on October 11 and will be clashing with Alia Bhatt’s Jigra. Meanwhile, Rajinikanth,Fahadh Faasil and Rana Daggubati’s ‘Vettaiyan’ is releasing on 10th October, thus leading up to a three way clash on the occasion of Dusshera.
